Political support for the role angling plays in the rural community has come from senior members of both the Conservative and Labour Parties at fringe meetings connected to their annual party conferences.
The supportive remarks were made by Conservative Defra Minister, Jim Paice, and Labour Shadow Environment Minister, Huw Irranca-Davies, at The Rural Receptions, held for delegates at both party conferences, which were hosted by the British Association for Shooting and Conservation and The Angling Trust.
